Google’s -60 Penalty

A while ago, I have read a newsletter from a mailing list about how they noticed the new search result from Google. Rumor around some forums and mailing lists that there is a new -60 penalty from Google. Some webmasters found websites that were listed on position 61 in Google’s search results had a Google Sitelinks below their listing. We know that Google Sitelinks only displays for the first search result meaning it only displays in number 1 of the search result. Many Webmasters believe that the 61st result with the Sitelinks was originally the 1st result on that keyword but has been penalized by Google.

Google says’
In a Google Group discussion about showing Sitelinks for #61 results Google employee John Mu referred to a -60 penalty discussion.
Google hasn’t officially confirmed that a -60 penalty exists. However, Google employee John Mu indicated in a discussion about the -60 penalty in the official Google groups that Google penalizes websites if they contain certain spam elements.

It looks that Google penalizing websites that buy links specially when the links is site-wide (links in all pages of the sites). Site-wide links are an indicator of paid links in which Google sees as an unwanted way to artificially inflate the search engine rankings.

If this penalty for paid links then even the one’s following rules of Google can get in trouble.
