HowTo: Monetize from your Blog
Monetizing from your own blog is not an easy task. Before starting on monetizing from your blog you should have a standard number of monthly visitors and subscriber. You can still monetize from your blog even if your blog is new and don’t have much traffic but you will have to be patient because it will take time before earning that much.
I am also earning from my blog from different sources so you can also earn from your blog too. I will list some of the things you could do to make money from your blog and I am sure it can help you big time.
Sponsored Reviews
Paid to blog sites are the ones who will pay you for every sponsored posts you make in your blog. But before doing so, you need a disclosure policy first before they will allow you on posting. They are not the one who is paying you to make a post, they are just a bridge for you to meet an advertiser and if the advertiser finds your blog worthy for his/her taste then It will automatically a profit for you. It takes some limitations like you should have a minimum of 300 words or you should have minimum of 2 links to their websites or the like.
How it works:
- A potential advertiser will sign up in their websites
- They will open an opportunity and put the requirements
- If your blog meet those requirements then you can bid for it if you like the topic
- You will need to write original posts to your blog
- After writing, all you need to do is to submit the post’s URL and let them verify it
- After verifying then you will wait 30days (for some you can get the money right away) and then they will pay you the much the advertiser said
Mostly Paid to blog sites pays blogger using PayPal so make sure to have a PayPal account before signing up with Paid to blog sites. Some other Paid to blog sites doesn’t require you to have PayPal account because they are paying using Checks.
PPC Advertising Network
Google Adsense is the most popular option under this category, but there are also others. Basically, as other websites require, you need to sign up first then paste some code snippets to your website for them to serve contextual ads relevant to your website and you will earn certain amount of money for each click.
The profitability of PPC advertising depends on the general traffic levels of the website and, most importantly, on the CTR (Click-Through Rate) and CPC (Cost Per Click)
Affiliates
Affiliate marketing is very popular on the Internet. Under this system you have a merchant that is willing to let other people (the affiliates) sell directly or indirectly its products and services, in exchange for a commission. Sometimes this type of advertising is also called CPA (Cost Per Action) or CPL (Cost Per Lead) based.
Affiliates can send potential customers to the merchant using several tools, from banners to text links and product reviews.
CPM Advertising Networks
CPM Advertising Networks behave much the same as PPC Advertising Networks, except that you will get paid according to the number of page views that the ads displayed on your site will generate. CPM stands for Cost Per Mille, and it refers to the cost of 1,000 impressions (page views).
CPM rates vary with the network, the position of the ad and the format. The better the network, the higher the CPM rate (because they have access to more advertisers). The closer you put the ad to the top of the page, the higher the CPM. The bigger the format (in terms of pixels), the higher the CPM.
Direct Banner Advertising
Selling your own advertising space is one of the most lucrative monetization methods, because it enables you to cut out the middleman commissions and to determine your own rates. The most popular banner formats on the web are the 728×90 (leaderboard), the 120×600 (skyscraper), the 300×250 (rectangle) and the 125×125 (square button). You can also find some in my sidebar and I am using a 100×100 (mini square button) and all of this vary with pixels.
The downside of Direct Banner Advertising is that you need to have a large audience to get potential advertisers, and you will need to spend time managing the sales process, the banners and the payments.
Ad Widget Network
The latest trend on the world wide web that lets you monetize from your blog. Some of these services operate under a PPC scheme, others behave like text link ads.
