Movie: Death Note (デスノート, Desu Nōto)

Based on a hugely popular Japanese manga and anime, DeathNote offers a premise that will likely appeal to disaffected adolescents everywhere. Death Note Death Note supposes that human lives are snuffed by Shinigami (Death God) who write human being’s names down in a notebook called Death Note.

The lead character’s name is Light Yagami (夜神 月, Yagami Raito), is a very intelligent young one, but bored. The start of the story begins when Ryuk (a Shinigami) dropped the DeathNote and is picked up by Light.

It’s the complex rules and dark revelations that ultimately make DeathNote fun to watch, and towards the end of the film, Light does start to resemble the charismatic, selfish, and completely amoral bastard that he is in the manga.
