How to Connect O2 Xda Flame to Linksys Wireless Router

Connecting your Pocket PC phone to your Secured Linksys Wireless Router is not as hard as setting up your Linksys Wireless Router. After I posted about setting up your Linksys Wireless for Windows and Ubuntu OS, I am sure that you can connect your O2 Xda Flame in no time.

WLAN Settings
First, connect to your Linksys’ Settings Page using a browser (ie. FireFox, Internet Explorer) using the default address 192.168.1.1 and enter the default username and password in the pop-up window (default is admin for both username and password). After you login, go straight to Setup > Advance Router and press the Show Routing Table button.

The Routing Table will display four column. Write the first three; Destination LAN IP, Subnet Mask, and Gateway, but make sure that the text in the fourth column is LAN and Wireless.

In your O2 Xda Flame, go to Start > Settings > Connection > Wifi Settings > Network Adapters and click on L2TP NDISWAN Miniport (I know that this is a default adapter and positioned in the first on the list) and input the IP Adress, Subnet Mask, and Default Gateway respectively. We’re almost done so just hang on for a little bit and you will be surfing using your O2 Xda Flame in no time.

Wireless Manager
Go to Start > Settings > Connection > Wireless Manager and on the bottom right, click Menu > Edit. You are now in the Wireless LAN Settings. Again, get the MAC address and Put it in the MAC Filter List in the Linksys Setup Page. After you write the MAC address in the MAC Filter, go back to your PDA phone and go to Start > Settings > Connections > Wireless Manager and tap the WirelessLAN to turn it on.

After this all will be automatically setup by the PDA phone and the modem themselves so you really don’t need to make extra effort setting it up further. As long as the MAC address is properly placed and the O2 Xda Flame detected the Linksys Wireless Router, there will be no more work to be done with.
