How to prevent Blog’s Downfall
Blogs are experiencing downfalls when no one is reading it or no one really cares about the blog. And to add in that statement, all average blogs will face its downfall no matter how many friends the bloggers have. Average blogs doesn’t stick in the world wide web for a long time. For now, let’s find out and understand the common lifecycle of a blog and learn how to keep them alive.
I’ve created a graph for you to see the hypothetical traffic and explanations why they are going down.

In the graph above, there are numbers and the flow from blue to red are traffic from cold to hot. In this graph I will explain the numbers and how they can get traffic from that posts.
1. I Now Annouce My Blog
Hello World is the common way some bloggers are doing for their first post. They are announcing to the world that they already have a blog and in fact, this is their first post. It will not take long before the blogger will notice that no one is actually reading and visiting his/her site not realizing why on earth anyone actually would.
2. Social Networking lists
In this part, the journey begins for their blog and will start to take a kick on the blogosphere, and some of this bloggers will also learn and use some things to help their journey. They will start reading and visiting other blogs with niches then they will realize how crowded the niche they chose. They, then, will post contents to their blog that has been tackled in other thousands of blogs on the world wide web.
3. 3 different Cookie Recipe
Continued the journey, they are now really kicking some traffic higher than their old posts. In some cases, this is the works of search engines and the new found EntreCard and some others tricks they may have learned in their journey.
4. 1500ec Contest
Here, the blog owner launched a contest with requirements that will surely benefit the blog like drive traffic to the blog in exchange with a price. In most cases, the blog owner already signed up for a Digg and a StumbleUpon account. With this, the traffic grown unexpectedly and will surely experience it’s first server crash because of it’s low cost hosting plan.
5. Baked Macaroni sucks, Bigtime!
Posting without the knowledge that no one will read this kind of post will surely come in it’s point. So, the tendency of this mistake will lead to some lost of traffic.
6. ????
Unless the blog has a visitor and reading the content of the blog then it will surely die. The journey will go on for just a reason - he really has some time to waste to post to his blog.

well, you can’t say you really are blogging wasting your time unless you don’t have visitors. And in that part I can say you have your own regular visitors so for me you are not in 6th stage but rather having a fluctuating traffic.
I think if people are blogging for making money, then, they are concerned on the traffic flow. But for people blogging for fun, traffic downfall is nothing just to worry about.
Yes, blogging just for fun isn’t the same as blogging for profit. Sometimes others become bloggers just to make and find new friends and others share some life experiences. But the problem is, most of the bloggers (around 60% or maybe up to 80%) are just blogging for profit so, mostly, around 60-85% of that fraction’s blogs are dieing.
is this stats true angelo? 60-85% of bloggers blog for profit? i didn’t know that. thanks for sharing. i actually thought most bloggers blog for fun..i didn’t know that the opposite is true..hmmm, makes me think and convinces me to just blog for fun instead..and let monetization and commercialization follow..because right now, i’m trying to squeeze in monetization, maybe i shouldn’t push it since i suck at it anyway, besides, that ain’t the main reason i blog anyway..what do you think?
yes, that’s true. you can easily distinguish a blog if they are blogging for profit or not. I can say that just be yourself even in your blog, don’t just think “I want to make money that’s why I’m blogging” or something instead you are blogging because you like what you are talking about.

i have one too many downfalls,hahaha.. but i just take it as it comes and try to learn from it. if i don’t learn from it immediately, i know i will in the future.. :) i think i’m in that #6 stage..hahaha..although i haven’t gone to that bandwidth crashes i think. i’m not an active entrecard dropper too, so i can’t make a contest that can give away that much ec points.. :) but the funny thing is that i still enjoy blogging the same way, i don’t let stats get the better of me. it is after all, enough reason to make me happy that i can write something that may appear on a stranger’s google search from miles away and that sometimes, that stranger clicks it, reads my blog and leaves a comment or just another profile pic in my “recent reader” widget. that is satisfying enough (well, you know i enjoy cheap thrills right..haha) i still dream of a time when i’d have that pagerank that has eluded me, maybe because i don’t really exert effort on seo and pagerank generation tricks. and also dream of getting some blogger award, well, who doesn’t right? :) but until then, i guess i’ll content myself with the fact that it’s enough reward that i get to post almost anytime i want and i get to read other people’s blogs as well — because somehow, it makes me feel connected to the world at large, one way or the other. :) so traffic or no traffic, i press on, i blog. :) cheers dear angelo!
